Payment and Refund Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
Scope of the policy and the products or services it covers
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of digital courses and related professional resources offered through showfran. The services focus on studio production in motion, including studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation, lighting and sound waves, and workflows for television news and live shows. It covers one-time course access, subscription-based learning modules, and any bundled digital materials. The policy does not extend to physical goods or third-party services.
Prices, currencies, taxes, and any additional charges
All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling (GBP). Value Added Tax (VAT) at the prevailing UK rate is included where applicable for UK customers. International purchasers may incur local import taxes or duties not controlled by showfran. No hidden fees apply to standard transactions, but currency conversion charges from your payment provider may occur. Prices are subject to change without notice, but confirmed orders lock in the displayed amount at the time of purchase.
Accepted payment methods, payment authorisation, and payment security
We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfers where available. Payments are authorised in real time through secure third-party processors compliant with PCI DSS standards. Card details are never stored on our servers. Authorisation confirms sufficient funds and may place a temporary hold. All transactions use encrypted connections to protect your information under UK GDPR and PECR requirements.
Order, booking, or service confirmation and when a contract is formed
Upon successful payment, you receive an immediate email confirmation with order details and access instructions. A binding contract forms when we send this confirmation. Access to digital content begins automatically unless you exercise cancellation rights beforehand. You must retain the confirmation for any future queries.
Cancellation rights and applicable cancellation periods
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the date of purchase to cancel most digital content orders. Cancellation must occur before you start downloading or streaming substantial portions of the course. For subscriptions, the cooling-off period applies to the initial purchase only. Once content is accessed beyond a minimal preview, cancellation rights may be lost.
Refund eligibility, exclusions, and non-refundable items or services
Refunds are available within the 14-day period if no substantial access has occurred. Exclusions include courses where you have completed more than 20 percent of the material, promotional bundles already redeemed, or services customised to your specifications. Non-refundable items encompass any downloaded resources or certificates issued upon completion.
The step-by-step procedure and information required to request a refund
To request a refund, email [email protected] with your order number, full name, and reason for cancellation. Include the date of purchase and confirmation of whether any content was accessed. We may request additional details such as account username for verification. Requests must be submitted within the applicable period.
Inspection, approval, rejection, and notification of the refund decision
We inspect each request within five working days, verifying access logs and eligibility. You receive written notification via email of approval or rejection with reasons. If rejected, you may provide further evidence for reconsideration within seven days. Approved refunds proceed to processing immediately.
Refund method, processing time, and when funds should reach the customer
Refunds return to the original payment method. Credit card refunds typically appear within 5-10 working days, while PayPal processes in 3-5 days. Bank transfers may take up to 14 days depending on your provider. We notify you once the refund is issued. Delays beyond these times should be reported to [email protected].
Special rules for digital content, subscriptions, services, or promotional offers where relevant
Digital courses are non-returnable after substantial access due to their nature. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 48 hours before the next billing date. Promotional offers carry the same 14-day rights but exclude redeemed discounts. If a subscription includes ongoing access, refunds prorate only unused full months after the cooling-off period.
Failed payments, duplicate charges, chargebacks, and suspected fraud
Failed payments result in order cancellation with no access granted. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded within 10 days upon notification to [email protected]. Chargebacks trigger account review and may lead to service suspension. Suspected fraud is reported to authorities and results in immediate order hold. You remain liable for legitimate purchases.
Mandatory consumer rights in the target country that the policy cannot exclude
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, or the Consumer Contracts Regulations. You retain rights to remedies for faulty digital content, including repair, replacement, or price reduction. Nothing here limits liability for negligence or fraud. Contact the Citizens Advice Bureau for further guidance on UK consumer protections.
